FAQ

Physical Therapy & Sports Medicine For Additional Questions Please Contact Us At (936) 273-0808

Yes. The choice of where you receive therapy is always yours. While the majority of our patients come to us by physician referral/recommendation, many clients request to see us due to our strong clinical reputation in the community.

We operate in a direct access state where, if your insurance plan authorizes self-referral to physical therapy, a physician referral is not necessary for you to be seen by a licensed therapist. Please check with your insurance though as many health insurance plans require a physicians referral for therapy to be covered. We also offer treatments, services and/or products that do NOT require a referral and are available on a self-pay basis.

We participate in the majority of major health insurance plans including Medicare and Worker’s Compensation. Please contact us prior to your first visit to see if we participate with your specific health plan.

As a service to our patients, we will gladly file claims with your insurance company on your behalf. In order to appropriately submit these claims, we will need to obtain a copy of your insurance identification card to ensure that we have the necessary information.

Your therapist will conduct an evaluation of your condition lasting between 60-90 minutes. The evaluation is necessary to create a program designed specifically to address your needs for a maximum recovery.

– Referral slip from your medical doctor
– Your medical insurance card
– Your ID
– A copy of your medication list including dosages, if you have it
– If you are getting therapy as a result of a worker’s compensation claim or an automobile accident, you will also need to bring your claim information, including claim number.

Please arrive 15 minutes early on your first visit to fill out any necessary paperwork.

We recommend comfortable clothing such as sweatpants or shorts, a T-shirt or tank-top and sneakers.

Each visit will last 60 – 90 minutes on average. Times vary due to the treatment and exercises being performed.

In order for you to achieve the result that you deserve, you will be given a treatment plan after your initial evaluation. It is important for your recovery that you attend every appointment outlined by your therapist and prescribed by your physician. You may start to feel better after only a few visits, but can relapse if you do not complete your entire course of therapy.

JEN IS THE BEST!!! She got me right back to where I was before getting injured and was so attentive, caring, and a great listener. She helped to customize a plan that would help me get back on the road to all of my fitness goals. I had problems with app and Nicole took extra time to sort them out without making me feel any more inept than I already am. Thoroughly attentive in every way. Personalized care and communication. Never felt neglected or unattended. Jen was always vigilant as to my efforts and difficulties throughout every exercise and managed this while enduring my lame sense of humor.

Jen and the front desk staff did a wonderful job taking care of me and helping me to make a complete recovery from a recent orthopedic surgery. I wasn’t getting the results I needed from another physical therapy provider, and was happy to find West Woodlands Physical Therapy through a recommendation from a new pain management doctor that I recently started with. The front desk staff was very competent in working with my insurance, handling scheduling, and providing service with a smile. Jen asked me all the right questions to understand my needs, developed a high-quality plan for me, and led me through the plan with excellent physical therapy knowledge and skills and responsiveness to how my body was doing throughout the process. In addition, I greatly appreciated the app that the team provided and that Jenn populated with my assigned home exercises and that I can use going forward even after completing my therapy. I highly recommend this clinic for any physical therapy needs!

I am extremely happy so far. Erica and Hayley at the front desk are so sweet. Jen is an incredible, knowledgeable therapist and I look forward to working with her to finally get my issue resolved. The therapy is so spot on! Jen is genius! My last PT honesty did absolutely nothing to help me reach my goal of getting out of pain and off meds. It’s been a very long frustrating stressful 9 months but I feel i am absolutely where I need to be.. finally. I had my first therapy today, what a difference already!

Friendly office staff and great therapists. Well equipped facility. Jen is an amazing physical therapist. After seeing her for just a few weeks I was much improved. She really listens to patients and designs the PT to meet individual needs. Every session is a little different- new exercises without mundane repetition. I have had 2 different injuries treated there in the past 2 years with great results both times. Highly recommend

Jen at West Woodlands Physical Therapy was my therapist after both right and left hip replacement surgeries over the last 9 months. Jen is wonderful at what she does, she is very knowledgeable in assessments and building effective treatment plans and adjusting them as you progress. She genuinely cares about your recovery process and is very encouraging. I have had several therapists over the last 5 years with two knee replacements and one knee revision and Jen is the best! West Woodlands is a very nice facility, and Hailey and all of the rest of the staff are a pleasure to work with. Thank you all for helping in my recovery and getting back to a normal life!
